10 &#038; 11: England&#8217;s South Coast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a relief to escape the London crowds on Sunday, when we rented a car at Heathrow airport.\u00a0 After a rainy start, courtesy of ex-hurricane Bertha who visited England that day, we went towards the English south coast. \u00a0The weather was stormy, with sunny spells alternating with showers.\u00a0 That made for class=\"wp-caption-text\">English Channel after Bertha<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Upon reaching the coast there were people kite surfing, essentially parasailing with a surfboard.\u00a0 I had never seen that before.\u00a0 Because of Bertha\u2019s wind, they went very, very fast.\u00a0 It looked very exciting.\u00a0 I guess I was born too early!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1252\" style=\"width: 1034px\" the south coast of Dorset through a picturesque landscape with spectacular vistas of the cliffs on the English Channel, alternating with medieval villages in the lovely English countryside.<\/p>\n<div to get into a restaurant.\u00a0 In the US when it is very busy, they may tell you \u201cwe are all booked\u201d and then gently stare you out of the establishment.\u00a0 In England, they tell you \u201cwe are all booked\u201d, pause a bit, and then say, \u201cBut if you don\u2019t mind waiting, our service is very slow, but we can probably fit you in somehow\u201d.\u00a0 Meanwhile, you can have a drink.\u00a0 Part of the pub culture, there\u2019s always room for more.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1241\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a
